In one of the pivotal games of the Wild Card weekend, the Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys aim to demonstrate their playoff potential, seeking to make an impact after not reaching the NFC Championship game since the mid-1990s.

On the other hand, the Packers aim to showcase on national television that Jordan Love is their third consecutive franchise quarterback and that they maintain Super Bowl aspirations. However, today’s announcement reveals that the Cowboys are contending with a quarterback injury.

The Dallas Cowboys have disclosed an unexpected quarterback injury ahead of their matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The team is otherwise in good health heading into the wild-card playoff game on Sunday.

The only player with a designation is backup quarterback Cooper Rush, who was added to the practice report on Friday and is listed as questionable due to an illness. Rush did not participate in practice. He has seen action in 69 snaps in mop-up duty throughout the season.

Meanwhile, cornerback Stephon Gilmore, dealing with a shoulder issue, had a limited practice for the second consecutive day and is anticipated to play with a protective harness for his dislocated shoulder.

Left guard Tyler Smith, who missed Week 18 with a foot injury, will make a return after a full practice on Friday.

Defensive end Dorance Armstrong (ankle), defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins (ankle), and safety Malik Hooker (ankle) are all cleared and ready to go for the upcoming game.

The potential injury to the backup quarterback is unlikely to have a direct impact on the game, unless Dak Prescott also gets injured. Nonetheless, it becomes an intriguing scenario to monitor in the event that Prescott is sidelined during the game.
