Brian Bomster-Jabs, a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan and local artist, expressed his admiration for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson by presenting him with a personalized painting showcasing key moments from Jackson’s football journey, spanning from high school to the NFL. The artwork, created within a week, captures pivotal moments such as Jackson receiving his first NFL MVP award and includes depictions of Jackson’s mother and friend, rapper Kodak Black.

During the Ravens’ regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 6, Bomster-Jabs, who had secured pregame sideline passes, took the opportunity to share his tribute with Jackson. The artist aimed to commemorate Jackson’s achievements to date and expressed a desire to update the painting in the future to include further successes, particularly a championship.

Despite Jackson being inactive for the game due to the Ravens securing the top spot in the AFC with a first-round bye, he graciously received the painting from Bomster-Jabs on the sidelines. The artist recounted Jackson’s joy and appreciation, describing the encounter as filled with warmth and gratitude.

Following a season in 2022 where Jackson’s contract discussions overshadowed his on-field performance, the quarterback made a strong comeback in 2023. He secured a lucrative five-year contract worth $260 million with $185 million guaranteed, showcasing career-high statistics in pass completions, completion percentage, passing yards, and touchdowns. Jackson is now considered a frontrunner for the NFL MVP award.

Bomster-Jabs emphasized that the gift was not only a tribute to Jackson’s football excellence but also a recognition of his emotional and inspirational impact on Baltimore. Jackson, in turn, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, acknowledging the inspiration he provides to the city.

Looking ahead, Bomster-Jabs plans to create similar pieces to honor Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton, who shares Korean heritage with the artist, and rookie receiver Zay Flowers.
