Nick Saban’s post-Alabama career takes shape following the announcement of a significant position in the sports world.

Less than a month after Nick Saban’s unexpected retirement announcement from coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, the question arises: What lies ahead for one of the most esteemed college football coaches in the sport’s history? On Wednesday, that question was finally answered.

Nick Saban joining ESPN for College GameDay + NFL Draft coverage

Despite being 72 years old, Nick Saban has no intentions of retiring from football entirely. In fact, he’s poised to have an even greater presence on television than when he was coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide.

ESPN has confirmed that Saban will join College GameDay as an analyst on Saturdays. Additionally, he will contribute his extensive expertise to NFL Draft coverage and participate in SEC media days throughout the year.

While this position represents a new venture for Saban, he’s not entirely unfamiliar with television appearances. During the 2023 season, he made regular appearances on The Pat McAfee Show every Thursday. Additionally, he has made occasional appearances on College GameDay broadcasts in the past.

While it’s a different role from his coaching days, given his track record of seven National Championships, it’s likely that Saban will bring a wealth of insight and be a valuable addition to ESPN’s college football coverage.
