Since assuming the role of head coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2020, Kevin Stefanski has experienced both commendations and criticisms.

Despite winning Coach of the Year in his debut season with the Browns in 2020, he arguably surpassed that achievement in the subsequent year.Stefanski achieved the remarkable feat of guiding his team to the playoffs despite utilizing four different starting quarterbacks, or five if Jeff Driskel in Week 18 is included.

Few, if any, head coaches and play callers could have achieved what Stefanski did this year with Flacco at quarterback. While the veteran quarterback delivered an impressive performance reminiscent of his Super Bowl-winning days, Stefanski played a significant role in this success. In the four seasons since leaving the Baltimore Ravens, Flacco has experienced various coaches and offensive coordinators without reaching the same level of success he enjoyed with the Browns.

Stefanski demonstrated a keen understanding of when and what to call, contributing to Flacco’s immediate comfort and synchronization with the offense. Consequently, Stefanski emerges as one of the top contenders for the Coach of the Year award, potentially securing his second such accolade in his relatively young coaching career.

His most notable success came in the way he guided Joe Flacco to finish the season and secure a playoff spot. According to Hayden Grove, Flacco serves as tangible evidence of Stefanski’s exceptional offensive acumen.
